Voice & Swallowing
The throat plays a vital role in breathing, swallowing, and speaking. A variety of problems can affect these functions including acid reflux, voice overuse or abuse, growths on the vocal cords, or lesions in the throat. The aging process can also affect the quality of the voice and swallowing mechanism. If you experience voice changes, chronic cough, or swallowing problems for more than 4 weeks it is important to be evaluated by an ENT physician. At ENT Northwest we have the technology to directly visualize and show you your throat and voice box. Treatment may include medication, surgery, or obtaining imaging of your swallowing mechanism and voice and swallowing therapy.
